In this photo, it shows that the city was filled with rubble after the war. This shows just how devastating and tough the battle was. Keep in mind that there are still civilians in there homes hiding from the battle. Rubbles like these would stop tanks from maneuvering, making it go a different route and fight in different areas of the city. Traps and mines could be hidden in theses and snipers can also use these as cover.

In this Cartoon, King, which represents Canada, needed to choose whether to support conscription in order to help Britain or keep supporting the current volunteering system. Conscription was needed, since Canada had a large amount of casualties, to replenish troops for the Canadian army.
